Hello there! I haven’t been updating this blog as much as I would want to so here’s a collection of sketches I did since the start of the year.
Here are some of the sketches I did at the office while Pinterest-ing. Pinterest is a really good website for inspirations or pegs. Too many beautiful things over at that site. <3
The first sketch on my brand new Fashionary (finally gave in and got myself one).
Practicing with colored pencils again. It’s been around two years since I last used one. I wasn’t satisfied with this one so I never finished it. :P
Here’s a little something I made after attending a brush calligraphy workshop two weeks ago. I learned a lot about how pressure and control of the brush makes so much interesting strokes. Clearly, I need more practice with my brushwork! :D
Portrait commissions for Abbey Paner! :) These took forever to finish because Abbey was nice enough not to give me a definite deadline. Thanks (and sorry for taking my sweet time with these lol), Abbey! <3
I had the opportunity to illustrate for Marga Buenaventura's article for the Young Star section of The Philippine Star.
I’ve always been a fan of Marga’s writing, even way back in college (little background: we were in the same organization and i used to illustrate for her articles, too). She reminds me so much of some of my favorite writers, Sophie Kinsella and Meg Cabot. That’s why I got really *kilig* when she asked me herself if I wanted to illustrate for this article.
I have to admit, I spazzed out a little (okay fine, a lot) after seeing my illustrations published on a local newspaper. Thanks so much for this, Marga! :)
Check out the article here. (Very relatable, ladies! Haha!)
Say hello to my recent sketches. My sad excuse for an update. Haven’t really been illustrating digitally as I would like to be. In a way, it’s pretty great since I have much more time to work on the basics - illustrating the traditional way - with a pen and my good ol’ sketchpad. :)
